TOPIC: Cell phones should not be allowed in school. We agree that cell phones should not be allowed in school. Keeping cell phones in school may cause students to use it for the wrong reasons. They are also easily lost, stolen or broken. Cell phones may go to the wrong hands or could be a classroom distraction. First of all, students may decide to use these devices for non-educational aims. Calculators, cameras and other tools that cell phones include could help students cheat on tests. I know, at least 3 people in every class that use cell phones during lessons. The rule about cell phones doesn’t stop them. This means that, when students are supposed to be learning, they could be getting in trouble because of cell phones. A research by CHIP magazine shows that at least 8 students in a 20 students population class are cellphone addicted. To stop and prevent this addiction, cell phones should be banned in schools. Secondly, these valuable items could be lost in school. For example, a cell phone could fall out a backpack, purse or pocket which may result in the item being lost or broken. Since these smart phones are really expensive, that would be really sad. Finally, cell phones can be only distraction for students and teachers. When any phone rings, it will automatically take the attention to itself. The focus of the class should be learning or listening, not answering phone calls. If a cell phone rings, buzzes or lights up during a lesson that would be a big distraction. Some might argue that cell phones should be allowed in school, in case of unexpected situations. They may feel that students should have reach to such devices in case of emergencies or unexpected changes in after school plans.
