Cell Phone Operated Robotic Car
Cell Phone Operated Robotic Car
Awab Fakih, Jovita Serrao

Abstract — Conventionally, wireless-controlled robots use RF circuits, which have the drawbacks of limited working range, limited frequency range and limited control. Use of a mobile phone for robotic control can overcome these limitations. It provides the advantages of robust control, working range as large as the coverage area of the service provider, no interference with other controllers and up to twelve controls. Alth ough the appearance and capabilities of robots vary vastly, all robots share the features of a mechanical, movable structure under some form of contr ol. The control of robot involves three distinct phase namely perception, processing and action. Generally, the preceptors are sensors mounted on the robot, processing is done by the on-board microcontroller or processor, and the task (action) is performed using motors or with some other actuators.

1. INTRODUCTION
Radio control (often abbreviated to R/C or simply RC) is the use of radio signals to remotely control device. The term is used frequently to refer to the control of model vehicles from a handheld radio transmitter. Industrial, military, and scientific research organizations make use of radio-controlled vehicles as well. A remote control vehicle (RCV) is defined as any mobile device that is controlled by a means that does not restrict its motion with an origin external to the device. This is often a radio control device, cable between control and vehicle, or an infrared controller. A RCV is always controlled by a human and takes no positive action autonomously. One of the key technologies which underpin this field is that of remote vehicle control. It is vital that a vehicle

A lot of animals are on the verge of becoming extinct, including the tiger. The spy robotic car can aid us in this purpose. Since it is a live streaming device and also mobile, it can keep the forest guards constantly updated about the status of different areas which are prone to attack. As a result, it can help to prevent further destruction of the forest resources by enabling correct prohibitory action at the appropriate time. 6 FUTURE SCOPE 6.1 IR Sensors IR sensors can be used to automatically detect & avoid obstacles if the robot goes beyond line of sight. This avoids damage to the vehicle if we are maneuvering it from a distant place. 6.2 Password Protection Project can be modified in order to password protect the robot so that it can be operated only if correct password is entered. The development of the self-driving car has been in the works for some time and is just the latest in a long history of automotive innovation. Over the years, automakers have introduced many new automotive technologies that have made driving safer and more convenient. Automakers will continue to develop new technologies that offer increased safety and convenience. One of the newest technologies that exist today include a system that keeps a car in the lane and warns the driver when they are veering out of the lane. There is also an advanced cruise control system that matches a car’s speed with the vehicle in front of it. Another system alerts the driver if there are obstacles near them when they are backing up. And there is also a system that parallel parks a car by itself. (Silberg, Wallace, 7)…

Autonomous control is used in the mechanics of many machines we use today, Autonomous control is basically a self-controlling program installed into a machine that allows the machine to move by itself based on the surroundings. The program installed into the machine asses the surroundings with its sensors and makes a decision on the movement of the autonomously controlled unit. The word autonomous means self-governing, this means it can make decisions by themselves, with this in mind, autonomously controlled vehicles can be controlled without a pilot and without radio control. This is very useful in an array of different applications as the possibilities for the use of autonomous control in the workplace are infinite.…

Ford explained the self driving car as,"Thrilling the passengers"(Weber, Harrison). Self Driving Cars are able to make smart decisions on their own (Rayej, Shima). A self driving car contains a radar, a GPS, a navigation system inside the car, video, and multiple other sensors. The car contains a descriptive map of all earth's features(Guizzo, Erico). "The most frequently used sensor for a map building are laser range finders and cameras," Shima Rayej stated. Using the laser range finder the car is able to build a three dimensional map. A laser range finder emits a laser beam that measures from obstacles around to how long it takes to reach or pass that object. Before the car decides which path to take it needs to create a map of the environment and put itself in the exact…

    Future Of Driverless Cars

Each car is equipped with a GPS which locates where the car itself is, while an assortment of sensors on the outside of the vehicle, such as laser rangefinders, radar, and video, senses the car’s environment. The car’s software then fuses all of this sensory data together to build a detailed three-dimensional model of the car’s environment, keeping in mind how fast the objects in its environment are moving. Based on this three-dimensional model, the car’s control system decides the right path for the car to follow. The control system must be able to discern crucial information, such as other vehicles’ positions, traffic lights, or a pedestrian crossing the street, from insignificant…

The Google Driverless Car is a project by Google that involves developing technology for driverless cars. The innovative technology latest product is a fully automated car that does not require a human driver. The modified cars ' most noticeable feature is a rotating sensor on the roof that scans 360 degrees for more than 200 feet in diameter, creating a 3D map of the car 's location. A sensor on the left rear wheel measures the car 's movements in detail and helps locate it on the map. A video camera on the windshield near the rearview mirror finds pedestrians, bicyclists, traffic lights and obstacles in the rod and sends that data to the car 's onboard computer. Radar sensors at front and back help locate more distant objects. A GPS receiver, a laser range finder and an inertial motion sensor complete the package. This unique car really drives by himself. All you need is to tell the place where you going and it will deliver you there safer, environmentally and economically better than the regular driver with the car.…

In this project, the robot arm is controlled by a mobile phone that makes a call to the mobile phone attached to the robot arm. In the course of a call, if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button pressed is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called ‘dual-tone multiple-frequency’ (DTMF) tone. The robot arm perceives this DTMF tone with the help of the phone stacked in the robot arm. The received tone is processed by the ATmega16 microcontroller with the help of DTMF decoder MT8870. The decoder decodes the DTMF tone into its equivalent binary…
