CBT Level 5 Assignment 3
1. What is your understanding of the value of National Occupational Standards? (5)
I think that the NOS is a valuable guide which provides practitioners with clarification of the standards they are expected to perform. The NOS can also help the therapist to identify the ‘gaps’ in their learning and help to plan further professional development. The NOS can be a great help for the practitioner in evaluating their own practice in order to improve their professional performance.

2. Describe briefly what preparation needs to be done before a client session. (5)
Before a client session starts it is important to make sure that the facilities and environment are chosen carefully. The practice room should be safe, clean and look professional. The noises should be minimised and the temperature in the room should be considered so the client would feel comfortable and relaxed. All the necessary equipment heaters, fans, forms, etc. need to be ready and to hand. Any interruptions should be excluded except emergency cases. The practitioner needs to be dressed appropriately and professionally. The possible negative factors and the way they might affect the client should be thought through and considered, though it is best to minimise them in the first place. The Health Safety check should be ensured.

3. List what needs to be done at first session (assessment session) with your client and why. (5)
The assessment session should cover the following aspects:
I. Business-type conditions.
It is important to establish and state the following matters:
‘cooling off’ period cancellation period confidentiality policy anti-discrimination policy by signing the form the client gives the consent to be their practitioner the importance of client’s understanding what is planned to do in therapy, if needed further explanation should be provided to draw client’s attention to the fact that success cannot be guaranteed as it depends on both practitioner and client

The free group with two generators a and b is composed of all finite strings that are formed from the four symbols a, a−1, b and b−1 given that no a is directly next to an a−1 and no b is directly next to a b−1. Two such strings can be concatenated and converted into a string of this type by repeatedly replacing the "forbidden" substrings with the empty string. For example: abab−1a−1 concatenated with abab−1a yields abab−1a−1abab−1a, which contains the substring a−1a underlined in the example, and so the “forbidden” string gets cancelled and reduced to abab−1bab−1a, which again contains the substring b−1b underlined in the example, which then gets reduced to abaab−1a. It can be checked that the group formed from the set of those strings with…

Working as an operations trainer for Airline Services Ltd (ASL), my job is to travel around to many of the UK’s major airports to deliver training and development of front line staff. Training within the aviation industry is of critical importance as many of our staff work in a hazardous environment involving live aircraft and heavy machinery. A great deal of the training I deliver is directly related to ASL company operating procedures to ensure that all staff are working to company standards and ensuring their safety and the safety of others. ASL provide a number of services to various major airlines, which range from the very basic (cleaning) to more complex services such as de-icing. The range of complexity in the services that ASL provides, results in a wide range of learner levels, where some staff may find aspects difficult to understand. Within ASL’s workforce there is a great deal of diversity in terms of education level, work experience, age, race, gender and previous knowledge from previous jobs that can make training challenging. It is of huge importance that when delivering training, it is specific to the task that the learner is expected to carry out on a daily basis and at the same time gives them the opportunity to question and discuss aspects of their role openly and not to feel in doubt, criticised or intimidated when voicing their opinion. It is crucial that all staff comply with ASL’s company values of: Quality, Reliability & Performance, (ASL website ref) especially myself during the delivery of training as these values filter throughout the entire company and can make all the difference when securing customer contracts and meeting expectations.…
