The Cold War began as a struggle between two world superpowers, the USA and the USSR. The Cold War allowed the USA, to expand in many different economic and political explorations. The Cold War led to three different conflicts which were the Korean War, the Cuban missile crisis and the *Vietnam War*. The Cold War also leaves an affect on America today. The Cold War originally began as political, and economic struggle. The U.S. did not want to see communism spread which was another main factor in the War. The Cold War started in 1947 at the end of the Second World War and lasted until the fall of the Soviet Union on December 26, 1991. The Cold War itself wasn't an actual War, it was a prolonged argument between capitalism and communism. The Cold War was also a "bluff show" when it came to the arm's race. For 13 days, the world stood on the brink of nuclear war. The Soviet Union had secretly stationed nuclear weapons on the island of Cuba. When the United States government discovered them, and demanded their withdrawal, the most dangerous confrontation followed. The United States became involved in the Vietnam War because the United States did not want the country to become communist.
