ABSTRACT Crime is a major part of every society. It is a social problem found in almost all human organizations, families, institutions and the community as a whole. It is a problem that has for a long time continued to derail development and even resulted into loss of both property and lives, not only in Kenya but also in the rest of the world. It’s a problem that affects both the rich and the poor; the young and the old, the educated and the illiterate and the institutions of higher Learning have not been spared either.This research is thus based on a study carried out to establish the factors contributing to
