Catt Hall Rochure Essay
For this assignment I decided to make a brochure and made it for my audience of Iowa State students. A brochure is much easier to follow because it is more organized and I think organization is something that students today can really appreciate. I chose students as my audience because I feel like they are who Catt Hall has the biggest impact on. I chose assignment number four over number four because I feel like Catt Hall is more beneficial to Iowa State students and more relevant than the Iowa Energy Center. Students really have no reason to go visit the Iowa Energy Center where as there are multiple reasons for them to go and visit Catt Hall. For my “purpose” page I used the picture of Cy and the stairs to Catt Hall to attract my audience by using his red color and his gesture. It offers a welcoming tone that could be very positive for a student who may be nervous about going and asking people inside for help. I chose to bullet point everything that is offered because I wanted my audience to follow it from top to bottom and so everything that Catt Hall offers could be easily interpreted.
For my history slide I thought it would be perfect to put in a picture of the building when it was known as agricultural hall that was in black and white. This way, students would look at it and almost immediately know that that page is about history. In my text about history, I chose to go with three main points, highlighting the major events that happened from 1893-1992. I did this because I wanted my audience to know of Catt Hall’s long and extensive history which is very important in understanding the state of the building
