“Cat Person” by Kristen Roupenian is a short story about a young woman named Margot and her encounters with a man named Robert. She meets him at the movie theatre where she works. They flirted with each other a couple of times which eventually leads to them going on a date. To say the least, Margot did not have a good time on this date. After the date, Margot tries to figure out how to tell Robert that she no longer wants to see him. When Robert is aware of her feelings he first seems to handle it handsomely. But when he sees Margot later that night with her friends at a bar, he sends her some ugly texts ending with him calling her a whore.
