1. Describa el tipo de control que Frito-Lay usa. Porque piensa que eligieron este tipo de sistema de control?

En este caso se muestra claramente que Frito-Lay usa el sistema de control concurrente. Este sistema es cuando los controles de un proceso de ejecutan durante el proceso esta en desarrollo.

En el caso se explica claramente como los vendedores locales de Frito-Lay introducen la información de las ventas y entregas en sus ordenadores diariamente y estos datos son enviados a la central en Dallas, Texas. Un supervisor puede, 24 horas después, revisar esta información y obtener datos mas claros una ves codificados con rojo, amarillo o verde.

Este método claramente supervisa las ventas en todo momento, esto le da a Frito-Lay la ventaja sobre sus competidores de saber exactamente donde están posicionados en comparación con ellos. Esto les brinda una ventana de oportunidades para corregir bajas en las ventas inmediatamente y descubrir el porque enfocándose en un área que muestra problema. No se pierde tiempo estudiando el mercado entero sobre un producto, ya que este puede que sea popular en un área pero no en otra, y le permite saber los resultados a medida se van dando las ventas, no tienen que esperar a que termine un periodo o un ano fiscal para obtener estos datos.

2. Identifique las situaciones en el caso donde Frito-Lay use controles preventivos y correctivos.

Se puede ver el control correctivo en el momento que ellos deciden sacar al mercado su propia versión de tostaditas de maíz blanco. Se detecta el error y se corrige, no solamente se quedaron con la información, sino que tomaron cartas en el asunto, logrando así un nuevo producto, abarcar un nuevo mercado y mantener su posición como empresa líder en las fabricación de boquitas.
