Persaingan dalam dunia usaha saat ini menuntut semua pelaku usaha untuk menerapkan strategi yang terbaik agar produk yang dihasilkan dapat survive di pasar. Begitu juga dengan Samsung Electronic Corporate yang melakukan beberapa strategi untuk masuk dan bersaing di pasar global. Berdasarkan kategori dalam bidang electronic, Samsung Electronic Corporate (SEC) melakukan beberapa strategi yang dipandang dapat memenangkan persaingan di pasar global yaitu dengan: a. Vertical Integration “If we get out of manufacturing, we will lose. Everyone can get the same technology now. But that doesn’t mean they can make an advanced product.” (Jun Yong Jong (1997 Vice Chairman). Tidak seperti perusahaan lain yang memilih untuk Outsource mereka melalui proses manufaktur, Samsung Electronic Corporate tetap berkomitmen pada kompetensi yaitu manufaktur.

Selama tahun 1998 – 2003, Samsung Electronic Corporate berinvestasi sebesar $19 miliar di pabrik chip baru dan $17 Miliar pada Juni 2003 untuk fasilitas manufaktur untuk TFT-LCD selama 10 tahun.

Namun, yang menjadi fokus proses manufaktur tidak membuat Samsung sebagai perusahaan kaku. Untuk menanggulangi rantai suplai permintaan, perusahaan tetap fleksibel dengan membangun 12 pabrik di Cina selama tahun 2003 dan mendirikan fasilitas R & D di India.
