In this case study, the parents are hurt and conflicted with a moral decision that will determine the life of their unborn child. Jessica is using the sentience theory to determine the moral status of her unborn child. She believes that all life is sacred while at the same time, she has hopes for a better socioeconomic position. He her husband Marco will support her decision but he sees the pregnancy and having a disabled child as a burden to their economic security.
