Case Study Of St. Joe's In Wayne
The patient is an 89-year-old female who was recently hospitalized at St. Joseph's Hospital for coronary bypass, as well as aortic valve replacement. Postoperative the patient did very well and she was transferred to the acute rehabilitation at St. Joe's in Wayne. Initially she was able to participate actively in the rehabilitation, however over the last several days she has felt increasing fatigue and was unable to participate. There is noted to have been the record that her hemoglobin was 7.2, hematocrit of 21.4 on the 1st with platelet count of 110,000, as well as a sodium of 128. She was seen in Wayne by hematology/oncology. She was started on IV Fioricet and oral iron despite that her hemoglobin dropped to 6.1. The plan was to attempt
