Case Study: Jessica Mclane
Hi, Veronica,

Jessica McLane’s job title is now Development Specialist at pay grade 15. This year, she has additionally assumed job responsibilities formerly assigned to our Special Events Coordinator. For FY17, I am adding more responsibilities as we restructure DPR. Essentially, Jessica’s job has morphed into something new based on her abilities and the needs of The Baby Fold.

Attached is a working job description that more accurately reflects the scope of Jessica’s duties and responsibilities. We have $36,194 in the DPR FY 17 budget for Jessica’s position. She earns under $30K now. How can we facilitate an increase to $35,500 beginning July 1 …or when Pat and I feel the timing is right?

Thank you for your help, Veronica.

Aimee

Ms. Marsha Geddings contacted the Client Assistance Program pertaining to her meeting with her new counselor on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. I reviewed Ms. Geddings’ case and I would like to obtain some additional information from the Lexington Area Office. The Client stated she has some anxiety about her meeting to develop her IPE. I am getting the impression from the case notes that the Area Office Supervisor has and is continuing to address the Client’s concern by reassigning the case to a different counselor. I only have a concern about Ms. Geddings’ willingness to address her anxiety.…

Coronary artery disease is one of the most prominent forms of heart disease. It occurs when the coronary arteries that supply the heart blood become narrowed, and eventually occluded. This narrowing typically takes place because of plaque build up due to cholesterol and other fatty substances being ingested, also called atherosclerosis. This thickening of the artery wall can take many years, eventually completely inhibiting blood flow. Because the blood flow has stopped, little oxygen gets to the heart, and the myocardial cells therefore die. This is when a heart attack ensues, also called a myocardial infarction.…

    Jane Jones Case Study

Jane Jones had advertised in the Yellow Pages that she was able to provide representation in uncontested divorces, wills and estates, as well as other services. It is outside the paralegal’s scope of practice to deal with matters involving wills or family law, including divorce. This was a direct violation of the Paralegal Rules of Conduct, “A paralegal shall not advertise services that are beyond the permissible scope of practice of a paralegal” (Rule 8.02(3). As a paralegal, it would be important for Jane Jones to avoid misleading any potential clients so that they do not assume that she is a lawyer. Jane Jones’ business name would have also been a violation of rule 8.03 (1) and (2). “(1) In this Rule, "marketing" includes…
