ABSTRACT

This report performs an analysis of DHL Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd and the market it is part of. It further gauges the impact of environmental forces on its development. It discusses the competitive environment in the market and focuses on the target marketing strategy of the company. The customer satisfaction level has also been assessed and an analysis of company 's marketing mix conducted to form a view of it 's effectiveness in meeting their customer needs.

I. HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

INTRODUCTION:

DHL is the world 's leading express and logistics company offering customers innovative and customised solutions from a single source. With global proficiency in solutions, express, air and ocean freight and overland transport DHL unites worldwide coverage with a profound understanding of local markets. DHL 's synchronized international network links more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.

DHL: THE BEGINNING:

In 1969, Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn (D, H, and L) founded DHL as a service shuttling bills of lading between San Francisco and Honolulu. The company grew swiftly and in a few years instigated service to the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, crafting a completely new industry of international door-to-door express service in the Pacific Basin.

PAKISTAN

The location of the office from where DHL activities in Pakistan are controlled is follows.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE IN PAKISTAN:

The DHL in Pakistan is a private limited company and at present 51% of the company 's share are owned by Mr. Sadiq Nawaz Khan Awan {Chairman - DHL Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd}. DHL Pakistan is the only joint venture courier service of DHL International. It is the outcome of an agreement between Robert Lynn (DHL) and Mr. Sadiq Nawaz Khan Awan. Although the operations of DHL Pakistan are regulated by DHL International but still all the management decisions are carried
