I. SUMMARY
Memelihara motivasi adalah salah satu kunci sukses. Banyak perusahaan menyadari bahwa salah satu cara yang efektif dalam mengelola pegawai adalah memberikan kesempatan untuk kreatif. Dan motivasi perlu diberikan untuk mendorong proses yang kreatif dan inovatif. Dalam banyak contoh, seseorang akan dihargai secara finansial untuk usaha-usaha yang sukses. Dalam berbagai kasus, kebebasan dan kesempatan untuk menggunakan keterampilan yang kreatif akan menghasilkan sesuatu yang positif dengan sendirinya. Di bawah ini akan disampaikan 3 teori motivasi : Teori 2 Factors, Equty, dan Expectancy.

Herzberg’s 2 Factors Theory.
Frederick Herzberg melakukan penelitian dengan melakukan interview kepada 203 akuntan dan engineer. Interview ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi job satisfaction dan dissatisfaction. Herzberg memisahkan dan mengelompokkan menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu job satisfaction dan job dissatisfaction. Job satisfaction menggambarkan achievement, recognition, characteristic of the work, responsibility, dan advancement. Herzberg menyebut faktor-faktor ini sebagai motivator, karena faktor-faktor tersebut menggambarkan usaha yang kuat dan performance yang baik. Motivator dapat mengubah rasa tidak puas menjadi rasa puas. Karena itu, seorang manager dapat memotivasi bawahannya dengan memasukkan faktor motivator ke dalam pekerjaan masing-masing bawahannya.
Herzberg menghubungkan job dissatisfaction dengan faktor yang ada di lingkungan kerja, seperti company policy, administration, technical supervision, salary, interpersonal relation, working conditions. Herzberg menyebut faktor ini sebagai hygiene. Faktor-faktor ini tidak member motivasi karyawan.
Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaji merupakan kontribusi paling besar di dalam dissatisfaction dan karyawan akan memilih berhenti ketika dihadapkan pada faktor hygiene yang tidak baik.
