Case 2
1. An ethical issue exists when there is a question of whether an action is right or wrong. List the issues that, in your opinion, are ethical issues in this case.

Chandler told Braxton that many things are out of their field or expertise’s, however, Braxton had some legitimate concerns that needed to be addressed. One, when PSI decided to cut productions of the shredded film, they were essentially not delivering what that promised to the companies that they had contracts with. Chandlers advice to Braxton when they were threatening to sue was, let the legal department decide how to deal with it. Seconded, the biggest ethical issue was the deceitful actions taken by the PSI when the fire broke out, destroying all production in the warehouse; not only did they try to cover it up, they still promised they could deliver to the companies that had contracts with them.

2. In terms of the SCPS Code of Ethics (Exhibit 2.7), how would you evaluate Braxton’s actions

I would applaud his action to bring up his concerns to Chandler, however, the moment Chandler told him not to worry and forced him to go against the Code of Ethics, “I will maintain honesty and integrity in my relationship with all customers and prospective customers”, Braxton should of went higher or told his clients what the real deal is and what they can expect. Failed.

3. In terms of the SCPS Cod of Ethics (Exhibit 2.7), how would you evaluate Chandler’s actions?

Chandler’s actions were completely unethical. I understand he is trying to do his job and help his sales people sell. Although his short-term gains would be okay, long term, based on his advice to Braxton, he ruined all future sales with all companies that were involved. Failed!

4. How should the affected customers now be treated to minimize the damage to both PSI and the customers?

First off, higher management needs to step in to right the wrong. Sympathize with all their issues, address each one, reassure that this will never happen again
