Career Hierarchy Assignment
I have grown as an academic student in the area of college and career readiness. There are many assignments in Ms. Burnett's Expository Reading and Writing class that help me feel more prepared. One assignment we had was the Career Hierarchy. This was an assignment in which we wrote down the steps towards the career that we want. This helped me conclude my decision on what I want to do -which is dental hygiene- because I was able to see that the steps towards the career I want weren’t many. Consequently, I learned that I am required to attend a dental hygiene program as well as completing some prerequisite courses. I felt very prepared for this oral presentation, which caused me to not feel nervous. This class and the workload have prepared me for college and my future career. I now have a better idea of what I will do in the future and schools I will attend, thanks to the assignments for this class.
I have grown as a global citizen in the area of investigating the world. Before this semester, I had taken a college class with a couple of friends. One of their parents would drive us to the college class every Tuesday and we would all do our homework together. This semester I decided to take another college class, but none of my friends were able to come along. I decided to take this college class by myself and that I would take the bus. What I have learned from taking the bus is to become independent. I used to rely on others a lot on where to go or how to arrive there. Now I am the person that people come to when they need guidance on getting somewhere. Something I have also learned about myself is that I keep my
