Even those who wish to work face challenges. Society has reared even friends and family to belittle those who attempt to follow their inspiration. Those with jobs considered undignified or improper are seen as inferior in hierarchical fashion. Following the arts is considered a waste of time, whereas following science or math is considered spectacular. Careers such as lawyers, doctors, and engineers, are highly valued for the money they produce and the education they require. This is inherently harmful, not only to those who wish to follow other professions, but also due to it providing wealth inequality. Rather than health and happiness, money becomes the priority. Moreover, someone who is unable to acquire a higher education might not be seen as fit for most jobs. It is a vicious cycle, where people need degrees to land jobs deemed decent, need money to attain said education, and need education to obtain the…

    Why We Work

In one way or another, all people around the world work for the ultimate purpose of seeking a better life. It is widely believed that people work solely for money. However, it is only one of the numerous important purposes of working, and oftentimes there is a lot of benefits that people obtain from working without even consciously realizing them. Nowadays, except for money, people still work for many reasons, including to understand and fulfill their responsibilities in society, to avoid wastefulness, and to keep their minds active. For many people, the biggest benefit of working lies in a priceless lesson of responsibility. Through working, people learn how to be responsible, first to themselves, then to their families and the society. If working is all about money, why even kids from well-off families, Bill Gate’s for example, bother going to work even though they are guaranteed a wealthy future life whatsoever? It is because they want to be responsible for their own lives, to live on their labor, not on their parents’ fortune. Next, working gives them a strong sense of responsibility for their family and society. Family life is happiest when all members share family work and together contribute to make it a more comfortable and harmonious life. Likewise, a country is most prosperous when every citizen contributes their part to make it thrive. Another important reason that makes people look for job is to understand the importance of producing property and avoid wastefulness. As a matter of fact, not working leads to indolence; indolence facilitates spending and extravagance. People who don’t work at all have nothing to keep themselves busy, hence often indulge in expensive entertainment, lavish shopping, and so on. Understanding this fact, many people, even privileged ones, choose to work to stay away from wastefulness, and to be helpful. In short, working, or living on what they created teaches them not only the value of labor and property, but also the…

If a teacher asked a class of first graders, ‘What do you want to do when you grow up?' How many of them would say they wanted to be an entrepreneur, or a stock broker, or a high ranking executive of a large corporation? The answer is none. Generally, children picture themselves helping others as Police Officers, Firefighters, Doctors, or Lawyers and so forth. This illustrates the natural motivation of people to achieve by personal satisfaction, but unfortunately, the influence of money and fame can radically change an individual's frame of mind when it comes to motivation. Although the media, governmental system, and corporations tell the average person they want money and fame, the great majority of people are still motivated more to achieve something for personal satisfaction, even those that are already rich and famous.…

Marketers want us to believe that living a selfish life, involving nothing but the pursuit of money and fame will bring success and happiness. Sadly, this is not true. Money is comparable to the often-mentioned new toy—fun while it is brand new and fresh, but terribly boring and unexciting after a few hours of play. Although money can buy conveniences and comforts, one needs much more than superficial luxuries to live a successful, well-balanced life. Money does make life easier, but it does not necessarily make it better. For example, money can not make one knowledgeable or wise – that only comes with hard work and committed study. And money can not help one forge a long-term relationship with husband or wife – that only comes through love, commitment, and sacrifice. All the money in the world cannot teach respect or courtesy – that only comes with a good up-bringing and a strong concern for the feelings of others. Can money give one the gift of patience or leadership or appreciation or courage or friendship…

I do agree with keeerthi there may have been many gr8 people who have reached 2 heights and that 2 without the support of family....................but in my opinion what is the use of going to such a height where u r no longer able to see near and dear one's around.... man is a social animal and we can't live alone and further sacrificing family n going 2 top doesn't serve purpose. We may reach to top but what will be the use of that thing when there’ll be none around...the path of balancing is defiantly not smooth but then we can always spare some time for our family can't we? Reaching top is ever person's dream n in my opinion it can be fulfills in better way if we have support of family.... ignoring then for heights may lead us there but then they won't be there.............and money is not everything...it is imp no doubt but then we also require our family for many reasons at various stages of life..............and only running after profession at the cost of family may give one fame, glory, heights n all but the thing that won't be there will be MENTAL PEACE. Something which we can't afford to ignore...............and further there is no priority here there is no comparison we can't leave one and go for other.... both of these need to go side by side. Leaving either one doesn't solve the purpose..…
