Capital Punishment What is Capital punishment? Capital punishment is the utimate punishment, being put to death. It has been used in ancient times as well as the present to punish those who commit crimes deemed justifiable by putting the offender to death. Over the course of human existence we as a society have struggled with whether capital punishment is right or wrong. The bible advocates death for murder and several other crimes such as kidnapping and witchcraft and I feel that if society deems someone unfit theyshoud the power to decide in a fair just manner whether or not a person should be put to death.I have come to feel that capital punishment is morally right and should be used throughout society to be a reminder to everyone what the consequences are for committing crimes that warrant capital punishment. Capital punishment is documented as far back as the Eighteenth Century B.C, King Hammurabi of Babylon had made the death penalty punishment for 25 different crimes. This is the first basis for my argument. I feel that when the death penalty is enforced it not only eliminates a problem and danger to society but also prevents eighteen or more murders throughout society. If eliminating one life who had chosen to commit acts that if found guilty are punishable by death than I say the death penalty has given us eighteen or more reason as to why it should be used.
Criminals are found to not think about the consequences of their actions because many of them say they were not aware of those consequences specifically being capital punishment. They commit a crime without the understanding that if they commit the crime they are jeopardizing not only their freedom but their life as well. I feel that if we as a society put our foot down and begin to demonstrate that actions do and will reap consequences, including when warranted death. The more we educate society and make them aware, the less crime and loss we have to endure. Is the capital punishment
