Capital panishment
SHOULD DEATH PENALTY RETURN TO ALL COUNTRIES???? This essay will explain the history and pros and cons of death penalty. Capital punishment was used in the past by all countries but now only 58 nations are using it. On the other hand 95 countries are not using it at all and the remaining ones use it only for exceptional circumstances. Death penalty should exist in all countries for certain crimes such as child abuse or murder. (Amnesty International, 2010)
In the last few years the number of criminals is increasing dramatically. What should we do to regulate this number? Should death penalty return to all countries? Death penalty should return to all countries because in the last few years crime is everywhere. No one is affright to do something wrong because they could pay and get out of the jail or because people are affright to say something that someone did because even from inside the jail this “someone” could do many things to hurt them. Capital punishment, the death penalty, is the killing of a person by judicial process as a punishment for the crimes that he did. Crimes that are punished with death penalty are known as capital crimes or capital offences. The term capital originates from Latin capitalis, literally "regarding the head" (Latin caput). Hence, a capital crime was originally one punished by the beheading of the criminal. (Amnesty International, 2010).Death penalty started a long time ago when the king and queen could decide if a criminal should be beheaded or be eaten by the animals. Now days the countries that apply the death penalty are using injection or hot seat. Hot seat is an electric chair, an instrument of execution by electrocution. It resembles an ordinary seat for one person; "the murderer was sentenced to die in the chair". Death penalty is a very appropriate punishment for certain crimes such as child abuse or death because it’s a relief of the
