Candidate Hintz Summary
Candidate Hintz successfully gave his brief to his fire team while outlining all the needed information for them to have an understanding of the mission at hand. Although, his brief was not completely filled with extensive detail, it was clear and concise enough for his team members to know what was needed to be done. While negotiating the obstacle, he guided and controlled his team as needed and made decisions on changes to the plan as required when they were faced with hazards and roadblocks. Candidate Holthe's five paragraph order was clear and concise. It was easy to understand and flowed well. However, he did brief parts as more of a check in the box without applying them to the execution. For example, he briefed hand and arm signals when they were clearly communicating utilizing voice. Initially he identified security but he then told them it would not be necessary so he did not establish it. SNC briefed a concise scheme of maneuver and his tasks were clear in order to accomplish the mission. SNC did fail to make the necessary adjustments to his plan in a timely manner. When it was clearly evident that his plan was not working he did not make an adjustment until eight minutes into the execution phase. SNC did not move…

Candidate Oblea Delivered his five paragraph order ensuring to cover all paragraphs, however his understanding of the order was poor. The coordinating instructions seemed as though they were ignored during the execution phase. Fire team members violated the boundaries set in the coordinating instructions. SNC displayed a complete lack of confidence during his brief and execution phase. When approaching friction points SNC could not adjust his scheme of maneuver, instead he paused and could not proceed through the course. SNC did not effectively utilize his fire team to their potential, he would state what needed to be done and instead of delegating he would actually execute the order himself. The management of time was…

Candidate Murillo used a lot of time preparing his order; SNC used almost a full minute after he received the order from the evaluator, which displayed a lack of urgency. During order delivery, SNC used filler words several times, and had to pause on occasion to check the information before briefing it to his team. However, SNC did brief all of the paragraphs in the order, including the subparagraphs provided by the evaluator, including a Mission paragraph with purpose statement. SNC included formations in his scheme of maneuver and billet assignments in the Execution paragraph. During movement, Candidate Murillo had to be redirected to the objective by the evaluator, but was able to remember the mission once the aggressor made noise in…
