The Canada lynx is hunted and killed an estimated 600 - 1,000 times a year. The lynx population is 116,000 now, but is severely threatened. The United States has the Canada Lynx listed as endangered, but the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources has the canada lynx listed as LC, or Least Concern.

The U.S. Fish and Game Service has been trying to change the mind of the ICUN though, and if they do, the Canada Lynx will be most likely be saved! Now, on to more positive facts.

Although this is a dumb debate since the canada lynx has been proven not a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx. This has been proven because the Canada lynx has three subspecies of its’ own! But it is fun to read about online.
The Canada lynx is usually solitary, but sometimes you will find small packs of them. There are amazing videos of Canada lynx encounters on YouTube, and some more videos of lynx fighting for territory.

The lynx are usually tame, but will attack if you seem like a threat, the lynx is hungry, or if you are trespassing on its territory. There are several cases of this happening, but if you don’t live in Canada, i’m 99% sure it will not happen to

The Snowshoe Hare is a small mammal located on Kodiak, Alaska. It is not native to the island. In the winter it can be seen with a pale white coat; whereas, in the summer it is brown in color. Each individual hare can vary in weight but are generally two to four pounds, roughly the weight of two to four one pound bags of rice. This makes them the smallest species in their genus. They are famously known in the animal community for their large and long hind feet that work as snowshoes, hence the name. These large feet support them when they are crossing through deep amounts of snow. If they sunk in the snow, then they really wouldn’t ever get anywhere. They only eat veggies and such, which make them herbivores. Twigs, berries, grasses and even bark are appetizing to their palettes. Often, large open spaces are avoided such as marshes or fields to keep out of the sights of predators.…

The wolf is truly a special animal. As the most widely distributed of all land mammals, the wolf, formally the gray wolf (Canis lupus), is also one of the most adaptable. The name of the bobcat is quite ironic, because it is literally from the fact that their tails are in fact bobbed, or short. It also has a binomial name, which is Lynx rufus. Interestingly enough, its’ scientific name comes of off Felis, which has to do with the cat family. There had been a debate on whether to classify this species as Lynx rufus or Felis rufus as part of a wider issue regarding whether the four species of Lynx should be given their own genus, or be placed as a subgenus of Felis. Ultimately the Lynx genus is now accepted. The bobcat belongs to the Animalia kingdon, the Chordata phylum and is in the Mammalia class. It is also a part of the Carnivora order and in the Felidae family. Not to mention the Lynx genus and being the L. rufus species.…
