Call Of The Wild Quotes
“The proper function of man is to live, not exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.” Jack London said that. Jack London was the writer of “The Call of the Wild” It’s an adventure book. I think knowing that he wrote that book adds more to the quote, but I’ll go more into that in the next paragraph. I want to take a risk now. I want to explore the unknown, the uncertain. I want to get in a fight. I want to drag race, which I know is dumb because I don’t even have a driver’s license, but I want to do it. I want to jump out of a plane with a parachute while “It’s Gonna Be a Long Night” by Ween plays. I want to take part in the world’s most dangerous sports. I want to prove I’m alive. I know I’m getting a little too excited for a quote made by a guy who’s dead now, but see it from my point of view. I’m a high school freshman, who has never taken a risk in my life. I don’t do anything risk-taking or worthwhile. I want to be the type of person you see skitching on the back of a car while on their car like Marty McFly in Back To The Future. That’s why I like this quote so much it makes me want to do something I’ve never done

The beast is non-existent, yet it cannot be tamed. It is a figment of the human imagination, but it still causes fear. Sometimes, it only takes thought to produce fear, even in the bravest of minds. Thoughts have the ability to produce images, which leads the mind to believe that the beast is real. The author uses various techniques to portray the beast’s significance in “Lord of the Flies”. In this story, this “beast” is shown to be a symbol of hatred, causing the children to fear and despise it. Some of these techniques include symbolism, irony, and character behaviour.…
