In my nursery each member of staff have a base room. in each room there will be a fully qualified and a trainee who both have a crb check, the trainee will not be left unattended. If a member of staff CRB has not came back yet they will not be able to do nappy changes until then. All members of staff must go on a first aid and food hygiene course , there are also lots of other courses that members of staff will get to go on too. For example in my room I have a little boy with severe food allergies which unfortanelty is life or death so the little boy has to have an epi pen with him at all times which is kept in his bag in my room and there is another one kept in the office. If the little boy was to have a reaction it could be a very serious situation and all members of staff should be aware of how serious it could be, which is why we all had epi pen training at work so that everyone would feel comfortable giving the epi pen if necessary fortunately he has never needed his pen, however he has had a reaction i have had to give him pireton which brings the reaction, I will then phone his mom to come and collect him straight away. There is also a few children with asthma in our nursery so we have also had asthma training.…

At times, Ariana chooses to stay on the rug after a lesson for additional support. This shows that she is being reflective of her learning. She appears to enjoy our inquiry work around mathematical concepts. In collaborative groups, Ariana offers her insight and pushes her peers to try out different methods. I often hear her say, “Wait everyone. I know we can try another way. So let’s just try it and see what happens.” Ariana would benefit from practicing his multiplication facts 6-12 to help increase automaticity. This will support her as she encounters complex problems. Additionally, Ariana would should continue to double check her work by using an inverse operation or alternative…

• Heat and light- Most ICT equipment gives off heat and this heat can build up over the day. It can make users uncomfortable and can also have a negative impact upon the equipment. The ideal temperature of the ICT suite is between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius and should have humidity between 40 and 60%. The room should be well ventilated and air conditioning used where appropriate. Lighting levels should be set lower than in a standard classroom to ensure there is appropriate contrast between screen and background environment. Semi translucent vertical blinds are best for reducing glare as they stop the glare from the sun but still let light in and they reduce low angle sunshine, especially in rooms facing west or east. They can also make access to windows easier than horizontal blinds.…
As a trainer, teacher and assessor my roles are many and varied. As part of my day to day work I may not only deliver lessons but also carry out theory assessments, practical assessments and sometimes interviews. I may have to motivate and liaise as well as guide and assess. I will have to keep records and be a subject specialist as well as liaise internally and impart information and advice sometimes on a personal level. The first impact I play regarding my role is either interviewing possible candidates or meeting and greeting them on the first day of their course. Meeting potential apprentices/apprentices on their first day induction requires me to make a good first impression and aim to create a degree of respect and professionalism from the onset.…
