Types of outlet
Local Shops – shops located at local area, such as near college. An example of local shop is the Cabin, Tesco Express, One stop.
There are advantages and disadvantages of this type outlet. An advantage is that they are convenience for customers. Therefore this increases the local shops’ customer base and profits because more people of that are likely to shop from the local shop, because it is easy and comfortable. Furthermore, local shops offer more customer service.
Another advantage of the local shop is that could offer personal service. An owner could know more about every customer’s personality, to know his tastes and preferences, and could offer the most suitable product, which means sure customer base and profits, and increase of them.
A disadvantage could be that these shops have a limited number of customers at the store in same time. These are small shops, which doesn’t have a large space and can’t afford lots of customers. Therefore, if there are lots of customers and there is no space for more customers, these customers who can’t enter at the shop (because of the space) will go to another shop, which will lead to decrease in the customer base and profits of the local shop.
Another disadvantage is that the local shops have smaller profits. This is because they service a target area and customers. For example, people from another hood would be not able to shop from the local shop, which is far away, which means less profits and customers.
Superstores – Superstores are large retail stores which offer highly diversified merchandise, such as clothes, electronics, groceries, toys, etc. Examples of this kind of retailers could be Tesco, Asda.
There are advantages and disadvantages of this type, too. An advantage is that these are large stores, which provide a big space for stock. Furthermore, the stock could be a big and high size. This is advantage, because if there is more space, there would have more goods for customers, which
