    I. COMPANY OVERVIEW A.) PRODUCTS / SERVICES Century hotel offers a decent variety of services given that it is one of the relatively known properties within the Pampanga area. The hotel gets most of its revenue from the functions or events being held at the hotel, restaurant operations, and the selling of rooms. They also get a majority of their earnings due to their convenient location of being right beside Casino Filipino, and a number of local attractions. Recent renovations of the rooms on the second floor are underway, as well as the functions halls. However, management does not seem to look into other areas that would increase their potential for gaining greater revenue. Examples of such are the possible addition of more restaurant outlets and an on-site complex attraction, renovation of the business center, function rooms, and the like. Facilities and services not available for guests are the following: 24 hour room service, valet service, salon, smoking area, bicycle rental, executive floor, and a poolside bar. In terms of sports and recreation, the following are not available: fitness center, golf center (on-site), indoor pool, game room, Jacuzzi, and spa facilities (i.e: sauna, steam room). B.) Using internet provides backend system for hotel’s staff to update and maintain rates and availability, including special promotion, either FREE bonus nights or Percentage discount, early bird discount and last minute deals. They work through rate plans and this allows maximum flexibility to cater for various promotions that a hotel can think of, as well as packages. An increasing number of hotels are building their own websites to allow them to market their hotels directly to consumers. Non-franchise chain hotels require a "booking engine" application to be attached to their website to permit people to book rooms in real time. One advantage of booking with the hotel directly is the use of the hotel's full cancellation policy as well as not needing a deposit in most situations. They have direct connections to the airline national distribution systems .These in turn provide hotel information directly to the hundreds of thousands of travel agents that align themselves with one of these systems.
