DESCRIBE THE PEOPLE, PROCESS, APPLICATION AND COMPONENTS OF INFORMATION SYSTEM. ALSO GIVE THE IMPORTANCE OF BISNESS INFORMATION SYSTEM IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT. GIVE AN EXAMPLE.

We can define information system as the integration of information technology and the activities of the people. Activities of the people may that support operations in the company, management system and the decision making of the organization. In other words, we can say that business information system in nothing but the interaction of people with the processes, data and technology. In the information system people are responsible for the input and collection of the data. As per the data input given by the operator system starts analyzing or processing the data. And gives the output. Thus, based on the data inputted in the system, we get the results. Now the information system is entered in the all parts of the system to maintain and record the data. Thus, it give rise to database management. To maintain such records and information, there are various kinds of applications and software’s are available in the market. For example, the most popular used application MS Office. Now a days such softwares and applications are becomes the heart of any of the company. These softwares are used for retail, supply and chain, inventory and various other kind of management. It gives a competitive advantage to the company other the others. The most important components of information system are computer/system hardware as well as software, telecommunications, databases and data warehouses, the most important; human resources and the procedures. Apart from human resources, procedures and databases; rest components are together known as information technology (IT), which is now ingrained in the operations and management of the organizations.
