Burroway Summary
Burroway’s workshop piece explains to newly writing critics that phrasing is everything. While work shopping we shouldn’t be so critical and overly opinionated. She points out that this doesn’t seem natural at all because we are so used to “judging art.” Although it seems very much out of the comfort zone, working on feedback does help the writing and writers in general. Being too critical can insult the writer and not help them, so choosing different wording can deliver the same message without sounding harsh.
