Persuasive Essay Final Draft

(150 points)

|Score |
| |

Write the final draft of your persuasive essay. Be sure to follow these requirements and recommendations when completing your draft:

Open a new Microsoft Word document. Type your name, your teacher’s name, your school name, and the date at the top of your document. To help your teacher know who the essay came from, save the file as:

LAC1 COM 2.12 Persuasive Essay Final Draft_FirstInitial_LastName.doc
Example: LAC1 COM 2.12 Persuasive Essay Final Draft_M_Smith.doc

Type your essay in the document you create.

The recommended length requirement for this persuasive essay is 600—900 words, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font. It is acceptable to write more than this; not developing your ideas enough to meet the length requirement may cause you to lose points.

Check online for the due date of your final draft. Turn the final draft in by the due date to receive full credit on the assignment.

Your final draft will be evaluated against the attached rubric. Read over the rubric before you submit your draft to your teacher. The final draft assignment is worth 150 points and you will earn points both for your essay and for how well you incorporated the feedback you received on your first draft.

Make full use of the feedback you received on your first draft, the Checklist for Revising a Persuasive Essay, and the Checklist for Proofreading a Personal Narrative, as well as the Mentor Checklist for Revising a Persuasive Essay. Each of these sources of information, especially the feedback on your first draft, will help you revise your essay to improve it. Don’t hesitate to contact your teacher if you have any questions about revising. Your teacher is there to help you.
