Openness is an evolution one can acclimated with after ample experience in the world. This state of mind has taken an individual quite some years to reach the position. In a statement by Brutus & Wittenberg,“openness represents the tendency to be intellectual, flexible, and broadminded, and involves divergent thinking and unconventional attitudes”. “Furthermore, openness represents the need to examine different experiences and is distinguished from its polar opposite closeness to experience or closed mindedness”(Brutus & Witenberg, 2014, p291)”. Certainly, maturity of those within the environment will be crucial to grasp this concept.

    Throughout Cassius’ speech, he used the persuasive appeals logos, pathos, and ethos to try to turn Brutus against Caesar. Out of all three appeals, I believe he used ethos best.
