According to Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, microsystem refers to the groups that immediately influence and directly impact the development of a child. In my life this impact came from my family and church. As a young child I was very timid and shy. My family taught me how to be resilient in challenging situations. For example during large family gatherings, where confrontations occur among my cousins and I, there were several opportunities to voice my opinion and stand for what I feel was right.     All three of these models of consider broader systems of influence and behavioral fluctuations based on environment as well as the individual’s role in bringing about change in their environment. In the bioecological model, the person-process-context element is the foundation for the systems within the model (Bronfenbrenner, 1986). The person-process-context element consists of four concepts. The first concept, process, explains how the individual and their environment engage interact and where the individual is changed by this environment.
