Broach Bilt Manufacturing (BBM Inc.) is a minority (women) owned contract manufacturer of printed circuit board assemblies, specializing in surface mount and thru hole technologies, add parts, as well as cable and wire manufacturing services, programming and test services, box builds and mechanical assembly, packaging/shipping services, parts procurement and stocking services. The idea of BBM Inc. started in our CEOs kitchen in April of 1990. Sara Broach (CEO) had just left her job as a legal assistant and decided to be a stay at home mom to her three boys. At that time, her husband, Dwight Broach, was working for another electronic manufacturer where his customers were disappointed with the lack of quality and constant late shipments they were receiving. Dwight knowing that he would soon lose his valuable customers because of this, took this as an opportunity and asked his boss if he could take those customers with him to his new company. I obtained a better understanding of how contract manufacturing works and how the company operates on a daily basis. BBM Inc. prides itself in utilizing lean manufacturing in its processes which in essence is the relentless pursuit of the elimination of waste. BBM Inc. is a leader in the industry, and strives to accommodate the needs of its customers to the fullest degree. The automated processes help the company accomplish this goal and provide customer satisfaction on all levels. In order to be successful in the lean manufacturing philosophy, BBM Inc. also needs to ensure that scheduling and resource management are being executed properly and in a timely manner.
