Brief Summary: The Giver
The Giver put his hands in Jonas’ back to transmit the memory. He was in what seemed to be like a sail boat, but it was longer and the color gray. He could also see the boat contained big brown boxes and what looked like huge round weapons. As for the day It was beautiful, the sun was very bright, the sky was blue and no clouds in the sky, and a salty smell. In contrast to all the good things he could see people running to the back of the boat, he didn’t understand why until he realized the boat was sinking. So he did as the others and went to the back of the boat and braced himself in case anything happened. Even after everyone went to the back of the boat it was no use, he could see the peek of the boat getting filled with water. Before he knew it he was in the water swimming, he had fallen out of the boat. All he could see was three other men that were swimming like him and a lot of floating boxes that had fallen. One of the men that fell out was on top of another person, making it harder for the one below to swim. Jonas kept looking and saw floatable boxes nearby ,he …show more content…
As fast a he could Jonas took the paddle and with a big splash threw it inside the ocean and started to push the water away with all his strength. The problem was that the wind was pushing him back not letting him paddle forward, he felt he was staying in the same place. Jonas paddle as hard as he could to see if he could diminish the wind problem, but it was no use he was still going back. He could hear the men screaming for him to keep paddling and to paddle harder. Until little by little they couldn’t keep swimming anymore went under water and the three men drowned. He couldn’t believe it he was shocked, one of them was so close he thought. He felt guilt and grief. Now Jonas knew that he would have to wait so that someone would come and find those who
