Secondly, breast milk helps ensure nutritional completeness. A breast fed baby is able to absorb the iron in the mom’s breast milk. However, a bottle fed baby may need iron-fortified formula. Breast milk helps ensure healthy physical growth. A baby that is breast fed gains weight and grows slightly faster than a baby who is formula fed. Finally, breast fed babies transition from breast milk to solid foods easier than bottle fed babies. Breast milk varies in flavors depending on what the infant’s mother drinks. Formula fed babies, on the other hand, are used to one defined taste. Thus, making it harder for formula fed babies to transfer to solid flood. Breast fed babies not only get their vital nutrients but also are protected against many diseases, protected against faulty jaw development, and tooth decay.
