Everybody has aspirations and dreams for what they want their lives to be like in the future. However is it a problem that these future careers are orientated on either fame or money and not happiness? So due to this fact I ask you today: What is more important: Money or fame?

It's said that over 90 per cent of teenagers want money when they're older in life, however over 90 per cent also state they want to be famous later on too. However what you all may not realise is that there are good and bad versions of both these factors.

You can be famous and have all the attention of the world, you will be worshiped, welcomed and wanted. You may think this causes you to be incredibly happy

If a teacher asked a class of first graders, ‘What do you want to do when you grow up?' How many of them would say they wanted to be an entrepreneur, or a stock broker, or a high ranking executive of a large corporation? The answer is none. Generally, children picture themselves helping others as Police Officers, Firefighters, Doctors, or Lawyers and so forth. This illustrates the natural motivation of people to achieve by personal satisfaction, but unfortunately, the influence of money and fame can radically change an individual's frame of mind when it comes to motivation. Although the media, governmental system, and corporations tell the average person they want money and fame, the great majority of people are still motivated more to achieve something for personal satisfaction, even those that are already rich and famous.…

Being famous does not necessary mean bring rich, and vice-versa. Both generally bring satisfaction if brought to one in a positive manner, or in a way he/she intended it to. Because being famous and being rich are both signs leading to success, which in most cases, is the human’s ultimate goal. Being just either rich or famous, other than being a positive thing, could produce highly negative and unwanted end results too. A huge percentage of people are famous as a result of all sorts of negativity, such as criminal acts and negative politics. At the same time, a good part of the world’s drug lords and terrorism-driven groups are fairly rich too. So when does being rich or famous become a good thing? Usually, a combination of being rich and famous, surprisingly, doesn’t do as much harm to coexisting peers, as the former would. Although criminals who fall under lists such as ‘FBI’s Most Wanted’, turn out to be rich and famous, regardless of how they got to where they are. But a bigger portion of the ‘rich and famous’ category are occupied by highly paid movie stars and sportsmen, neither of whom does much harm to the society.…

Fame is a strife in a plethora of people, but as many famous individuals will say it is a hard and callous road. As Margaret stated, “The days are alright, you’re surrounded by all sorts of people, but the nights are so lonely…” This is the case in other celebrities we know, such as Jim Carey who said, “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer.” These people were so profound in saying this because outside of the realm of being surrounded and loved by millions, the feeling is nearly incomprehensible.…

One important thing that defines success in our lives is our careers. With different careers, we will have different goals and measurements of our success. Success in human life is often measured by numbers and awards. If you are an athlete maybe it is the number of tournaments or the number of matches you have won. In almost every career there is money involved, and maybe that is the reason why people always look at money as primary measurement of their success, they can easily compare it with the others.…

In today’s society, teenagers and kids look up to celebrities, the unrealistic people who have money solely by fame. Some do look up to good celebrities though. They could be Taylor swift who donated 4 million to the Country Hall of Fame or even Demi Lovato who supports the anti-bullying campaigns such as “Mean Stinks” and Love is Louder. To me, you should look up to more realistic people that you see every day like, “The teenager who says no to crack…The kid who stands alone instead of joining a gang,… People who take risks despite fear.” (Oliver Stone p.5)…

The mainstream market would like us to believe that living an unnecessary egotistical life, involving nothing but the pursuit of money and fame will bring success and happiness. Unfortunately, this is not true. Money is only paper and is comparable to a new toy—fun while it is crisp and new, but dreadfully boring after a few hours of play. Money may buy convenience and comforts, but a person has to have more than superficial luxuries to create a uniform life. In-turn means money does help make life easier, but it does not make it better. Money cannot make one scholarly or wise (Simha 5). That only comes with hard work and devoted study. Commitment cannot be forged by money. For example, money cannot help one forge a long term marriage. That only comes from love, respect, patience, integrity, and sacrifice. Enormous amounts of money will never teach courtesy or respect. This only comes with a good up-bringing and…

    Is Fame Good Or Bad?

Phenomenom of fame is widespread around the world. Being famous today is not the same as it was 50-100 years ago. Andy Warhol once said : In the future everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame. Well, in my opinion, that time has come. People from all around the world are trying to get their way out there on the stage. It has become easy to acquire fame, but difficult to keep it. People get famous for doing nothing and the ones who want to become famous don't have many obstacles on their way. They can just apply on a reality show and soon their names will be on the tops of „the most searched“ lists on Google and Yahoo, and not to mention the yellow press. Little girls and boys from all around the world are, when asked what do they want to be when they grow up, usually answering that they want to be famous. Fame has lost its value. Celebrities with or without justified reasons to be famous are followed by a bunch of paparazzi each day. They are getting interviewed and photographed for worthless magazines intended for masses. Their private lives become a matter of abstraction and are endangered. As for those whose fame is a result of hard work, talent, high IQ or great achievements, their fame is well-earned. Such are, for example, great writers, mathematicians and artists. They are usually the ones who are, no matter how good they are at what they do, less famous than the ones who deserve it less. That is good because they don't need to sacrifice their private lives, they have their freedom of expression + they make a lot of money.…

„The majority of people aim at being famous because they want to be popular and they will be allowed a lot of things. One of the advantages of being famous is this that you meet lots of people and make new friendships. If you are a "star" you will have at your disposal unlimited amounts of money and thus you can afford buying most of the things you want, going everywhere at any time. However, I do not agree with this statement, that being famous is heaven because in my opinion it's more like a hell.”…
