Boundaries Definition
Boundaries Essay I have been in church since I was younger. With my nana being a pastor, my mother a youth leader, and my father a deacon, at church, I have grown up with a strong religious background. Because I was brought up in such a religious based background, I have developed a mentality that many girls my age may not have. For example ,Hebrews 13:4 – states that “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” This is showing that sex should not occur before marriage, and I follow this because it would go against God’s will if I were to do otherwise. Also, with my mom being a youth leader at church, her ultimate goal is to inform us youth of things

I feel as though I am unable to have a true relationship without honesty. If I am unable to trust my partner then I believe my relationship is bound for failure. Another characteristic I value in a relationship is respect. In a relationship my partner and I must have respect for one another and also our beliefs. I feel as though if there is no respect for my partner and their beliefs, then it is just a one way relationship because one of us may not truly care for that other person. Respect also ties into another characteristic I value in a relationship, which is shared power. This is important because I have hopes, dreams, and goals and I need someone who supports me as I plan to do the same for them. I also believe physical affection is a characteristic that I value in a relationship. In each relationship physical affection should be present because it just shows our love for one another through our actions. Although I believe physical affection is important, I believe that it is important for the each of us to ask before making a move because it can make the other person uncomfortable if they do not ask! Lastly, I believe that emotional intimacy is a key characteristic in a relationship that I value. This is important because at the end of the day, we should be able to have a deep intimate conversation, this shows our connection, value and loyalty to one another.
