Water plays an important role in society. People need water in order to survive and stay healthy. Most people buy bottled water because it is believed to be safer than tap water. However these purchases are on a convenient basis. One thing that will continue to influence people to buy bottled water is the idea of a healthy lifestyle. Consumers will pay a lot of money for water that they believe to be safe. Drinking water prevents a lot of health problems mainly dehydration. A lot of people claim they know the benefits of drinking water. Factors such as health, environment, regulation, marketing, cost,and pollution contribute to the cons of buying bottled water.
Contrary to popular belief bottled water has a huge impact on the environment. Almost sixty six million water bottles are thrown away each day. The water may taste better but it's not healthy for people. It is clearly a waste of money, studies show that most of it comes from the same source tap water does.Water companies and institutes should encourage the use of water fountains or coolers. Since so many people complain about the taste of tap water they can put a filter on it. Filters are good alternative because they are made out of renewable materials. Also they reduce the amount of bottles being thrown away.Two things that can be done to help the overall situation is carry an eco-friendly bottle or recycle.The EPA and FDA should notify consumers about what’s really in the water.
