First, Gato contemplates about schooling and the boredom involved. I agree that, in his view, there’s boredom involved in teaching. He states that during his time teaching, he asked the teachers why they felt bored, and they put the blame on the children. However, I don’t believe this one bit. I believe that individuals who take responsibility are not to be solely blamed. I think everyone involved in this kind of situation share the responsibilities for who’s bored. In this situation, it’s possible to say both the students and teachers are to blame for boredom, and no one is solely to take responsibility for that.…

As Gatto, an expert in boredom, explains, “…if you asked the kids, as I often did, why they felt so bored, they always gave the same answers: They said the work was stupid, that it made no sense, that they already knew it.”(Colombo, Cullen, and Lisle 142) Why would students answer that classes made no sense to them? There are two primary reasons, which are because of teachers and students. The first reason is that teachers mostly do not have different teaching strategies, so some students could not understand lessons because the way teachers give out information is ineffective with the way these students prefer to study. Some students are visual learners while other students would rather learn from normal lectures. For instance, some students tend to easily understand lectures if the lectures combine videos or pictures since these things help students to imagine what they are learning from teachers. The second reason is that students do not relate to subjects in which they are not interested. I believe that many students always get the feeling like they are forced to digest dry subjects like history and literature. As an illustration, when I was in the tenth year of high school, I got only three out of ten points in my third in-class writing exam about a poem in my literature class because I did not have enough deep ideas to analyze a poem as my…

The same is with entertainment or technology. For example, you come home melancholy from a long hard day at school and want to unwind from the days stress.…

Boredom is a killer, suggests an essay in the April 2010 International Journal of Epidemiology. Researchers Annie Britton and Martin Shipley at University College London examined questionnaires completed by 7,524 civil workers in 1985-1988 that queried the bureaucrats on their interest level regarding work. What Gabler fails to do is define entertainment. What may be considered entertaining for Taylor Swift may have been considered boring by Albert Einstein. And what may be fun for Nicki Minaj may have been considered a waste of time by Gregor Mendel. Different people seek different forms of entertainment, although throughout any form, as with anything in life, there is an upside and a downside. Music can be relaxing and soothing; but play it too loud and it harms your hearing. Watch the History channel and learn a thing or two, or watch Jersey Shore and become influenced by their outlandish behavior.…
