Books Should Be Taught In Schools Essay
Kids grow up reading books like Cat In The Hat, to Dork Diaries, to The Hunger Games, and so on. One of the highest levels you with reading is high school. High school can also be the area where students will decide they do not like reading, making it the downfall of their reading. If teachers want to stop this from happening, reading more mature books is a great solution. In this case, teachers should be able to teach questionable books because students learn about these subjects, either way, these subjects are an important part of life, and these subjects will help advance reading skills. Firstly, students should be taught uncomfortable subjects because these subjects will be taught either way. When students reach college, they will, no doubt, learn about uncomfortable subjects like sex, language, and violence. Throughout life, people will come across uncomfortable subjects like different sexualities, violence, and profanity every day. If teachers go ahead and teach these subjects, it not only makes it better on the students but the concerned parent who is not sure if or how their child will make it in the world. This brings me to another point. If students were to go ahead and learn these things, they will know how to handle these tricky situations. If we don’t know how to act towards something or someone, we will most likely try to get away rather than solve, or just stare the situation in the face. If we know even the tiniest fact about the subject, then we will at least know something out encountered. Therefore, questionable books are an important part of life because studies show 55.8% of people will encounter these types of a matter before they are even 16.
