Bonds Ad Analysis
BONDS - TV Commercial
1. Product name/ brand

Mr George Allan Bond established Bonds in 1915, he was an ambitious American businessman that arrived to Australia in the early 1900’s and followed his dreams. Bonds first began with importing hosiery. Once the company had relocated to Redfern in the western suburbs of Sydney in 1917, Bonds was on the way and had started manufacturing singlets, hosiery, gloves, socks, underwear, sportswear, baby wear and sleepwear, both for men and women.
Parent company: BONDS
Manufactured by: BONDS
Country of manufacture: Bonds manufactures 40% of its goods in Australia at three sites in New South Wales: Cessnock, Unanderra and Wentworthville. The factories produce nearly 17 million garments a year and employ 295 full time staff.
2. Key facts (About the product)
Bonds are a reliable and reputable brand that is affordable and suitable for all members of the family. Bonds are an icon brand, which has been a part of Australia for almost 90 years. Established in 1915, Bonds has sold over 400 million "Chesty Bonds" singlets, 155 million pairs of Cottontails pants and 20 million baby Wonder suits. Bonds produce more T-shirts and underwear than any other company in Australia. George began manufacturing hosiery in Redfern, a suburb in Sydney and the following year the company moved to nearby Camperdown, where underwear manufacturing began. Bonds are very high quality, made from cotton making them comfortable, durable and easy to wash.

3. Target Market(s)
The age market we are trying to allure is anyone from the age of 15 to 60, male and female. The new autumn collection of baby wear is coming in, in a few days so I would like to try to target young parents by having a crawl walk by a few babies dressed in Bonds. Bonds have a large range of underwear, hosiery and clothes for all ages and sizes. To make it a great commercial I plan on using professional models and dancers on set, all will be wearing Bonds

The producers chose to use vibrant colors throughout the ad to make the motion picture livelier. Although the actors are not famously known, they distract the audience with the humorous script. By having the father and his friends dance around in puffy dresses, they make themselves seem childish and more relatable to younger people. The text in this advertisement is kept to a minimal, so that it will not overpower the main visual aspect. Only the slogan is shown to emphasize the importance of what this ad is really about. Bright orange and white are against a striking black to make the logo really stand out. All of these notable elements immensely help towards making this commercial engaging to the…

    J. Crew Company Analysis

J.Crew is a very successful brand that reaches out to young business professionals; however J.Crew, specifically at Stonestown mall, is having difficulty reaching out to the college students at San Francisco State University. J.Crew believes the students at SFSU are a smart target to reach, considering the University is located right next to the Stonestown mall. Although J.Crew believes the college students are smart target to reach, many students are unaware of the student discount they offer. Looking over J.Crew’s past marketing campaigns, they have used older looking models. When doing our research, we noticed that J.Crew’s top competitors: GAP (Banana Republic), and BCBG use younger, college age range, type of models. With this is mind, we feel that the best advertising campaign is to follow their competitors and choose younger looking models, in order to reach out to the college market. J.Crew’s competitors use fun advertising methods to reach out to a younger market. We noticed in all of GAP holiday commercials, the young models are jumping around having a good time. We get a sense of fun and playful energy from the commercial, which could draw in college students. Gap also gives off a feel of comfort, casual and trendy style in clothing for the everyday college wear. We feel that if J.Crew starts advertising with younger looking models emphasizing on basic wear of a typical college student, J.Crew may have better success at reaching out to the SFSU students.…

Strauss opened his dry goods wholesale business as Levi Strauss & Co. He often led his pack-horse, heavily laden with merchandise, to the mining camps in the Gold Rush country.[citation needed] He learned that prospectors and miners complained about their cotton trousers and pockets tearing too easily. A tailor named Jacob Davis decided to make rugged overalls to sell to the miners.[citation needed] Fashioned from brown sailcloth made from hemp, his trousers has ore storage pockets that were nearly impossible to split.[citation needed] Davis wanted to register a patent, but lacked money. Strauss agreed to help him and they went into partnership.…
