1) Jay Nguyen’s Ethical Dilemma and the reasons for this occurrence: The dilemma present in the case study is a managerial dilemma at Concord machines. Jay Nguyen, the President and CEO, has to choose either Robert Dunn, senior Vice President, General Manager of Services or Annette, Innella Vice President of Knowledge Management will be continuing to be employed in the organization. Jay knows, Robert is the best manager he has ever had. Moreover, he works hard and understands the business better than anyone else in the organization. And he is the only upper level manager who interacts with working bees in the business unit. Robert, is a valuable veteran for the organization and his entire department idolizes him. However, Jay knows that the money generated from service is going to be flattened and Robert is old fashioned with his methodologies. On the other hand, Annette is seen by Jay as a new valuable asset. Who will move the company forward in future with her new ideas and thinking, which the company wanted the most. The key players are, Annette Innella, Vice President, Knowledge Management; Robert Dunn, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Services; Paula Chancellor, Graphics Specialist; Nathan Singer, Senior Vice President, Human Resource; Robert Dunn family and Jay Nguyen, President and CEO. There are lot of reasons which led to the outburst of Robert on Annette. The initial blame is on Jay he should have shared his thoughts about the company’s under-performance with all of the company executives. Instead, he mounted the pressure on Bob to overturn the situation single handed. Despite, knowing the fact the work load is beyond Robert’s capabilities. And, when Annette joined the organization Jay failed to introduce her to the other executives in person, that how integral she will be for the organization in future. Instead, he just sent a memo to everyone. Moreover, Jay failed to explain Annette regarding the important functions and the key members

    The case ‘Bob Knowlton’ revolves around a newly appointed project head for the photon unit, Bob Knowlton. Knowlton is very happy with the way things are going in his unit and his team up until a new comer Simon Fester enters the story who seems to be confident, brilliant and aggressive with his work approach.
