Mary Maloney was a loving wife to her husband. When her husband had told her he was leaving her she reacted by killing him. For these actions, Mary should be charged with second-degree murder of Patrick Maloney because she had not previously planned to murder him and it was an impulsive action. Mary loved her husband very much. She probably wouldn’t even lay a feather on him. But it all changed after her husband had told her that he was going to leave her. “The violence of the crash, the noise, the small table overturning, helped bring her out of shock ”(13). Mary clearly was in shock when she had killed her husband. Her being shocked suggested that she was surprised at her actions and had not planned on killing him. After Patrick had told…

Castle’s Family Restaurant is a local, small family owned business. Business is booming due to the location of the restaurants. The family-owned business is usually a case of a dream vs. reality. With crazy hours, small profits and no relief, a small business is tough to handle. Finding employees who are the right “fit” is especially difficult for smaller, family owned businesses, which often do not have the luxury of a human resources department. Jay Morgan is the operations manager but playing two roles in this company by also acting as the HR manager, which is not good for him or for the company. As a Human Resource consultant for a small franchise like Castle’s, I would want to ensure that the restaurant is operating well because I know the success of the restaurant is heavily built around the flow in which it functions. The work environment of a restaurant is usually fast paced, and requires the maximum efficiency. Employees are almost always part-time workers, except for managers and other supervisors. Mr. Morgan is traveling too much during the week to each location to handle several to almost all of the HR functions.…

My strategies would be different because as a new manager I would gather my team as a whole, initially, and in an open environment invite them to make suggestions or comments on how the department has been run? What if any changes they would like to see take place? And if they have any ideas that may bolster team spirit at this time also give each salesman in your team a package containing up to date product information and information on where the company vision is going. Included in this package should be a form which they can fill in with any private comments or concerns, make sure the form does not require a signature to encourage that anonymous safety feature. Once you have duly noted any verbal input in your meeting, set up a time and date you can sit down with each of your team members to discuss privately any ideas, comments or concerns they have. I would also take several months to look at all of the information I have gather and to monitor what effect if any making changes suggested by your sales team has made on both Bob and Mary. In month two initiate an impromptus revue of all staff in your team, and sit down with everyone…
