Well first off, what is a blue collar job or a blue collar employee? The first thing that may come to one’s minds is a person without a diploma working in a restaurant serving guests in hopes of earning their gratuity by the end of each guest’s meal. Meals in a fast food restaurant would not available if it were not for the blue collar workers working those IHOP or Chik-Fil-A equipment each day. Blue collar jobs are needed to maintain society in America. Life as Americans know it would be much different if Americans do not value the work of blue collar jobs. In some cases there is documented research about students earning their diploma and not having the time to continue their education, because they are busy working to keep their bills paid.The parents of the modern blue collar generation did not earn their diploma nor college degree, therefore they could not guide their children with the knowledge to go further in the workforce. As generations continue to grow, we find more and more young adults clueless as to what they should do to go beyond the accomplishment of the elders.
As stated in Blue Collar Brilliance by Mike Rose, gaining a diploma is not always the route for a great portion of society. That is where those people develop individual smarts to get them by and they typically do not do well on school test or have high IQ, but these people are not dummies, declared by Rose. Unfortunate circumstances occur to most men and women in the american society.
