The structure design of bended wing body aircraft for commercial airline transport

Introduction

Today many new design aircraft concept use blended wing body theory, one of the biggest challenge of this aircraft is to design a strong and pressurized structure for safe commercial Airline transport. According to V. Mukhopadhyay the structure of Blended-Wing -Body (BWB) flight vehicle has been a one of the major challenging problem for many year. By comparing the fuselage of a conventional aircraft which is a cylinder shape, the stress level of a flatter shoebox shape type BWB fuselage has a higher magnitude ,because the internal pressure causes blending stress of the whole fuselage instead of the stress act on the skin membrane. Due to the primary design of the conventional fuselage structure are focus on membrane stress, a new design and material are needed ,in order to increase the bending moment of inertia without increase the weight requirement while the aircraft is pressurized . ( V. Mukhopadhyay). Although a whole flowing Blended Wing Body fuselage provide structure weaker and no as pressurize as conventional aircaft, but new designs of the blended wing body aircraft structure can provide satisfying stress, deflection and buckling safety factors, pressurized body during the critical flight and ground loads. There are three articles discussed in this literature review.According to R. H. Liebeck, the BWB structure is separated into two major components: the centerbody and the outer wings. The Y braced box type fuselage design structure concepts was based on a thick stringer outer surface structure, where the stringers are about 5–6 in. deep in order. Then using internal ribs have Y braces where they meet the skin, to reduce the bending moment on the skin created by the internal pressure across the center body and the outer wing.     AbstractTo investigate the effects of mh45 airfoil on performance criteria of wingless body during flight. This investigates the dimensions of a prototype airfoil geometry for a wingless aircraft. The wing is including MH45 airfoil profile and is of swept wing design. The domain is set to equal flight characteristics of velocity, altitude, temperature, dynamic viscosity, prssseure, and using turbulence model best suitable to the domain environment being K-omega and the reasoning why not K Epsilon, Shear Stress Transport or Laminar. The investigation is looking at the turbulence kinetic energy, turbulence eddy viscosity, pressure, temperature, velocity, lift, total drag, voriticity, and shear layer near wall, natural frequency, torsional natural frequency and thermal loading. The domain generating boundary conditions as setting as above and including boundary layer thickness, separation point. The domain computing time is by dual core processor running computational fluid dynamics by distrtisation of results of turbulence Kinetic Energy, pressure and Velocity, computer aided design, computer aided engineering and assembly.…

    Winglets are near-vertical extensions of the wing tips used to increase the performance of an aircraft by reducing wingtip vortices and increasing the lift-to-drag ratio. Winglets were first studied by Richard Whitcomb in the late 1970’s to improve upon aircraft efficiency at a time when fuel conservation was necessary to save on costs with the rising fuel prices. STRUCTURAL STRESS LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Identify the five basic stresses acting on an aircraft. The primary factors to consider in aircraft structures are strength, weight, and reliability. These factors determine the requirements to be met by any material used to construct or repair the aircraft. Airframes must be strong and light in weight. An aircraft built so heavy that it couldn't support more than a few hundred pounds of additional weight would be Tension (fig. 4-1, view A) is defined as pull. It is the stress of stretching an object or pulling at its ends. Tension is the resistance to pulling apart or stretching produced by two forces pulling in opposite directions along the same straight line.     Over the years, more and more people get their minor plastic surgeries done.
