Black Lives Matter Movement Essay

All over the United States people are standing and fighting for the Black Lives Matter movement. Though the protests are often supposed to be peaceful and amicable, they often turn disruptive and violent. Police authorities frequently get involved and try to end the gatherings, whether it is calmly or with force. Within the Bill of Rights, the First Amendment allows the freedom of assembly as well as other important rights. Are the Black Lives Matter movements and protests within the constitutional right to assemble? The Black Lives Matter movement is a constitutional right because it is within the rights of the first amendment and it is what people should be doing to ignite a change.

Michael Brown’s murder resulted in protests for months after his untimely death. The protests and gatherings were brought together to form a feeling of unity within the black community and to uplift one another. The systematic oppression and demonization of black males have lead non-black people to believe that the murder and slander of these individuals is somehow justified.
