In the next 12 months, I plan to undertake a Graduate Diploma and Certificate of Research Studies in Science as postgraduate studies because I believe that it can help achieve my career goals and reach my potential. With this, I can expand the skills and knowledge that I’ve already gained in my undergraduate course and improve my strengths. While studying, I hope to gain further clinical training and experience through either volunteering, internships or placements. In five years, I plan to finish my Graduate Diploma/Certificate and have completed 2.5 to 3 years of training in either a private (or public) hospital, GP’s practices, specialist departments or laboratories. After the clinical training, I plan to find employment in a physiology department where I could specialize in cardiac…

As an aspiring physician, I knew that my selection for majors were concentrated mainly in the STEMS area. Through my human anatomy course in high school, I was able to dissect sheep brains, learning structures and basic functions relating to neuroscience. During scholar’s day at UTD, I listened to an incredible neuroscience lecture, which sparked my interest in the field. Neuroscience, through studying our brain and body functions, is the most unknown field in science, the next frontier for innovative breakthroughs. Additionally, I researched which majors helped pre-medical undergraduates the most with the MCAT and neuroscience was listed as a top 3. The combined interest and benefit for my career solidified my decision for neuroscience.…

I chose to pursue a STEM degree for multiple reasons. First, my lifelong goal is to attain a career where I can help others. All humans were placed on this Earth the same way, and no one deserves to suffer from life-threatening diseases and illnesses. I believe that I can help others by researching diseases, illnesses, and finding cures. Therefore, I'm double majoring in microbiology and medical laboratory science, and plan on becoming a clinical pathologist. Science always intrigues me, and the human body continues to amaze me every day. Strangely, we live in these bodies our whole lives, but still don't know how to cure certain diseases affecting the body. Granted, many advances continue to be made in the medical field, however, I would like…
