Burrhus Frederic Skinner, generally known as B.F. Skinner, was born on March 20th, 1904 in a small town in Pennsylvania called Susquehanna. Skinner’s mother stayed at home to look after him and his little brother while his father was a lawyer. He spent most of his childhood constructing things. For example, he made a perpetual motion machine and a cabin in the woods (Vargas, 1987). Because of his dreams of becoming a writer, Skinner attended Hamilton College.
