Beowulf Good Vs Evil Essay
Beowulf is beyond human having super strength, and incredible intelligence. Beowulf is called upon from Geatland to fight a monstrous beast named Grendel. During the battle with Grendel, Beowulf grabs Grendel’s arm with such strength the monster himself couldn’t move. Grendel writhed with fear, for he has never met any being stronger than he. Beowulf did not hesitate and ripped off Grendel’s arm hanging it on rafters celebrating the defeat of the sin-stained demon. Beowulf is also a sagacious warrior bringing his chain mail armor to confront Grendel’s mother who seeks revenge. Fighting in the depths of a lake where Beowulf is cornered glances at the wall to find a sword made by giants. Swung with such strength that Beowulf beheads Grendel’s mother in one fell swoop. Another epic hero quality Beowulf possess is his ethicality, the ability to make the right choice. The epic hero arrives in Denmark to confront the monster Grendel. Beowulf decides to give the monster a fair fight using no weapons nor armor. After the defeat of Grendel, Beowulf is praised by the Danish people. Instead of conquering the kingdom of Denmark the almighty warrior went home. Fighting evil for the greater good of society. …show more content…
Hearing the horrendous news occurring in Denmark, Geatland villagers encourage their glorified hero to take action. Following the defeat of Grendel, Hrothgar praises their savior giving him treasures for his heroic act. Departing home to Geatland where Beowulf is declared king acknowledged by his people for 50 years. In the midst of his rule a fierce dragon appears terrorizing the kingdom. Once more the hero steps up and fights for glory against the sky-borne foe. Fatally wounded to the head, Beowulf vanquishes the frightful beast, consequentially meeting his demise as well.
