Bella's Swan Chapter Summary
The book mainly deals with Bella Swan becoming depressed after her vampire boyfriend and soulmate Edward Cullen leaves town because he thinks doing so will protect her from the dangers of his kind. She eventually begins to reconnect with her old childhood friend Jacob Black. Who she soon discovers is also a being involved in the supernatural. He is then forced to protect her from a enemy Vampire who wants revenge on Bella. She also tries spending more time with her old group of friends. Which include Lauren, Jessica, Eric, Katie, Tyler, Conner, Angela, Ben and Mike.

She gets so mad at them that she punches Paul in the face. Paul then loses control of his anger. He turns into a werewolf because of it. Jacob and Sam chase after Paul while the rest of the gang take Bella to Emily’s place. Emily is the so called “wolf girl” and she’s engaged to Sam. Later on, Bella decides to do some cliff diving to ease her boredom. She almost drowns in the water below. Jacob ends up saving her by pulling her back to shore. During Bella’s rescue from the freezing waters below, Harry Clearwater, (Charlie’s fishing buddy), has a heart attack. When Bella returns home she is shocked to see a Cullen’s car parked near the house. She then discovers that Alice has returned to Forks. Alice is shocked to see that Bella is still alive. She thought Bella was trying to kill herself by jumping off the cliff. Bella is overjoyed to see that one of the Cullens’ is back in Forks. Bella explains to Alice that it was for “recreational purposes only”. Bella tells her that Jacob Black pulled her out of the water and back to shore. Alice says she didn’t see Jacob rescue Bella. The reason for that is because Alice can’t see past his pack of mutts. Bella tells her about Victoria’s return and Laurent’s end. Later on, the phone rings and Jacob answers …show more content…
In the end, I still think it’s worth reading. Sure it’s a big book, and has over 500 pages, but It’s worth it. When Bella was trying to avoid celebrating her birthday, I think she should have just lived with it. Sure, she was technically older than Edward by a year, but that’s not a bad thing. When Edward and his family left town, I felt bad for Bella. The one person who made Forks feel completely different to her was gone. The one person she loved more than her parents was gone. When she became depressed, I was feeling sympathetic. When she found the 2 beat up motorcycles and took them to Jacob, I saw a turning point in her depression. A positive one no doubt. Once Jacob finished the bikes and took Bella out for riding lessons, I knew something was different about her. When she encountered Laurent in the meadow, I knew things were changing rapidly at that very point. Because that’s when she first saw the werewolves. When Jacob tried to jog Belle's memory involving his family legends, I remembered that was a reference to a scene in the previous book. Later on when Bella meets Emily, Emily calls Bella the “vampire girl” and Bella calls Emily the “wolf girl.” I’m thinking that was meant to be a joke. When Bella jumps off the cliff, I can see why others were saying she tried to kill herself. Who wouldn’t come to that conclusion right away? When I read that Harry Clearwater had a heart attack, I felt bad for his widowed wife
