The detective and criminal investigator field is an exciting field to go into too. It calls for you to do things you may have never thought you would have had to do and they maybe scary at times but you have to be strong to protect the people and keep your promise that you made to your country and state. There may be times where you just have to stay at the station and work on a computer all day, it may be boring but that could be every job. You have to be a United States citizen because you have to be loyal to this country and it's a precaution. Having a valid driver's license is pretty important because you may and will have to drive. They have an age requirements so you have to be at least nineteen years of age, but often they prefer twenty-one years of age. Your record has to be pretty clean of any convictions or arrests for felonies and you have to have no domestic violence, or serious misdemeanors. You have to be able to provide a high school diploma or a GED, a minimum of two years of public- contact work experience plus prior law enforcement service and or military service.Some insist that you have an associates degree or some college.
