My Imagined Beach

ENG121: English Composition
August 26, 2013

After living for fifty-five years and visiting a lot of places, I have never been to or sat on, or walked along beach like the one in my imagination. Even though, I have not had this pleasure, I do have a vivid imagination. Sometimes when I want to get away, I imagine walking along the shores and sitting on the beach. My get away beach is perfect. The most beautiful beach that I have ever seen is in my imagination. In my imagination my perfect beach is a place where the sand looks clean like sugar spread out for miles. In the early morning, I can walk along the shore the soft, warm sand is squishing between my toes and making foot prints with every step (Scripps Networks, LLC. 2012). The sun is shining its blessings and cool crystal clear waters are kissing my feet. I find to be so peaceful to see the sand castles that still remained from the day before. At the shore there are colorful seashells in the sand when the sun hits down on them. In the distance is the ocean, which is as blue as blue as the sky (Scripps Networks, LLC. 2012). Another thing that I can see is the seagulls free like the wind soaring through the sky. I can also hear the seagulls loudly shriek as they soar gracefully above. I imagine that I am sitting on my perfect beach in evening, smelling the salt air, and feeling the cool breeze. I can hear the water and the crashing waves collide against the shore with their relaxing, rhythmic splashes like smooth jazz music (The Daily Paul, 2007-2013). The sun is slowly melting into the ocean and the sky is the shade of bright purple that can only be seen at dusk. It has been a long, hot day in the sun, and it feels nice to know that if I get too hot that I only have to walk about ten feet down until I get into the brisk cool waters of the ocean. Peace, serenity, contentment is the feeling that overwhelms me when I’m at my perfect

It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.…

You see, I do not necessarily care for the blistering hot days southern Florida is known for. I enjoy the beach the most when it is cooler; especially when it has just rained. I sit back in my beach chair and look up to the sky. The clouds create a pleasant, refreshing blanket from the hot sun. I take a deep breath and, I can smell the rain that has just fallen. Now, the clouds are breaking and letting little slivers of sunlight shine threw. The new sun seems to change the color of everything. The sand is a bright white with speckles of glittering shells. The ocean is a deep shade of aqua with the sunlight glistening over it. This is…

As I sprint across the hot sand that burns the soles of my feet, the smell of salt water and sunscreen hits my face. I can see teenagers nearby as they dive to save a falling volleyball, covering themselves in grains of sand. While I’m preoccupied, watching the intense game of volleyball, the cold waves of the Atlantic Ocean come crashing down on my legs. I can hear my best friend, Tara, dying of laughter as my body tries to adjust to the temperature of the sparking turquoise waters. Surrounding us is vibrantly colored tropical plants and trees.…

It was perfect weather out for a day at the beach. The clear sky didn't have a single cloud to block the rays of the radiant sun. I could sense the feeling of ultra relaxation from the outstretched deep blue canopy above and the penetrating warmth that emanated from the sky and wrapped around my skin like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night. Every once in a while a cool breeze would pass by and ease away the sun's intense heat bath for brief moment. I could feel grains of sand gently brush over the top of my feet with each gust of wind. The crisp ocean wind flowed through my nasal cavity and stung the inside of my nose. My lungs quivered in surprise at how light and fresh the air was since it was not drudgingly thick with smog or other pollutants. As the salty smell of the water hit my nose, I thought about all the time I had spent waiting in anticipation to get that first refreshing whiff of ocean air that confirmed arrival and signaled the beginning of another exceptional beach experience.…

Through the eyes of the young girl the beach is a blissful place. There are miles upon miles of golden sand sparkling by the blazing sun. As she stands adjacent to the ocean, warm sand squishes between her toes with every wave of indigo water. The wind rushes gently toward the shore. In between each breeze, a hint of golden sunshine hits her skin. Standing by the ocean, waves roll in over her toes. Her feet sink deeper and deeper into the sand, and she feels the cold bubbles beneath her toes. The smell of salt consumes her, as the mist from ripping water hits her rosy red cheeks. She decided to build a sand castle and watch channels fill with water. Here she can feel the wind from the coast rush through her long brown curls. As she steps past the seaweed into the water, rough waves push her down like the inside of a washing machine. She decides to take a stroll down the beach to explore the rocks in the distance.…

The beach is a beautiful scene of peace and tranquility. Every moment is a different scene. As I sit in my chair I can see all the sights of summer; children building sand castles along the ocean's edge, to my right I observe an elderly couple enjoying a good book. The waves crash into one another, the breeze blowing from the tide, the smell of salty ocean, and the sticky air…

The beach has many great things to experience, it is one of the few places a person can go where they can be completely content by just sitting and taking in their surroundings. The warm and soft sand moves beneath the feet of visitors as they are taking a relaxing walk down the shore. The visitors pass by children building small sandcastles and a strong smell of suntan lotion fills the air surrounding them. The slowly inching tide approaches the sandcastles and starts to chip away at them piece by piece. The water hits the tiny structures and the color of the sand darkens as it is pulled away into the cold lake.…

The blissful, enclosed, beach is silent. The bright glow of the sun blinds you as it emerges; it rises like a yellow puppet on the distant horizon. Crashing against the shore, small waves wash the night's debris onto the land. Untouched golden sand covers the floor as far as your eyes can see. Soothing, a gentle sea breeze rustles through your hair. Beach shops prepare for their day of excited costumers bustling in and out of their small seafront shops. Looking out to the sea you can see the large cruise ships on the world’s edge. The beach looks abandoned, nothing there apart from a few sea gulls pecking at the rubbish left by yesterday's visitors. Empty crisp wrappers, chocolate wrappers, ice cream papers and half eaten cones scatter the yellow sand.…

Excitement builds within me when I hear the soothing sound of waves crashing on a deserted beach and smell the saltiness hanging in the air. Waves crashing onto the fine sand beckon me to pick my boogie board up lodged in the fine sand next to me. The tide takes me out in waves of ups and downs until I am ready to ride the perfect wave back! The coolness of the water soothes my hot skin as it gently washes over me. I feel exhilarated when after what feels like hours my feet sink into the wet sand leaving foot prints behind me on my way back to my towel on the beach.…

Whilst sitting on a huge boulder that was on the beach, looking out at the sea with the sunrise glistening off of it, the crest of the waves turning white and finally crashing on to the beach and fizzling out where we sat, I turned to my then girlfriend and said “I want to live here, by the sea”. Within two months we had moved, lock stock and barrel and were living by the sea. After another few months by the sea, and with winter coming, we packed up again and went off to some of the best beaches in the world, backpacking for a year. This is a true event in my life, so have been drawn to the sea and sand myself.…
